One Month . . .

One month from today is Dallas' 3rd birthday! I can't even believe it. Time to start planning the party and getting out the tissues so I don't cry too much. My little boy is growing up!

My day so far . . .

It has been one of those days, I hate these days. I keep reminding myself that I am blessed and that if I change the way I look at it, it will change the way it looks.

I was getting Phoebe to sleep when Dallas yells from his room that he has to poop. I set the almost asleep Phoebe on the floor and go and race him to the potty. Of course he didn't have to poop, he already pooped. I tell him we have to go poop on the potty stick the gross stuff in the toilet and tell him to go get clean underwears. Flush the toilet, it clogs becasue my dear sweet boy has been holding his poop since Friday and what came out of him is bigger than adult poo. But that is another issue. I leave the clogged toilet for Daddy to deal with at lunch and send Dallas back to his room to play. I get Phoebe to sleep and turn on some TV for Dallas. That is the one time he can watch it because it keeps him quiet. I go in his room and he has destroyed the train table we got him. The pieces are everywhere and that thing took forever to put together. I was so mad. I go and turn the tv off, bring him to his room, try to find the instructions so I can figure out where all the pieces go and put the tracks back together. About this time I realize I still smell something. What might it be?? Poop in his underwear, again. So twice in the span of 20 mintues. I was so mad. Take him back to the potty clean him up, throw more poop into the clogged toilet and send him to his time out spot. I am so angry that he would do this again. By then Phoebe is awake. I go about my day and start to prepare lunch. Dallas starts coughing and coughs so bad that he pukes everywhere. So now I am cleaning that up. Daddy comes home from lunch and gives me a lecture that I shouldn't put the poop from his underwear in the toilet but take it outside and throw it over the fence, whatever. The toilet overflows all over the floor and again I am cleaning up gross stuff. Geez, what a morning.

Dallas on his scooter . . .

Mommy's Special Surprise . . .

Daddy and I don't ever exchange gifts on Christmas. We just focus on the kids and are happy to do it. Well, this year Santa (aka Daddy) bought me a great gift. I have been wanting a Kitchen Aid Mixer FOREVER! I am not sure why I want one so bad, as I am not the best cook and I don't know what all I will use it for other than to bake my famous chocolate chip cookies. I think I have watched a few too many episodes of the Food Network and they always use them on there. I figured I needed one too. Well, if you know me at all then you know that I am way to cheap to actually buy one. Those things are expensive and I figured that I would just wish for one and continue making my cookies the old fashioned way with my bowl, spoon and elbow grease.

I guess Santa thought I deserved this extra special present this year and went out of his way to make sure I had one. He went to two stores two different times to get a red one. Each time they didn't have a red one in stock. Then he had another gift idea and headed to Bed Bath and Beyond. As he was browsing the aisles looking for his gift he walked right by a stack of KitchenAid Mixers and what would be sitting there . . . a red one. It must have been fate. So he grabbed it up and got the other gift, which I might add was a thoughtful tray for me to use in the bath tub to hold my book and wine. He had been paying attention when I complained last week saying my book was too heavy to hold as I relaxed in the tub. Anyways, he got to talking with the nice lady at Bed, Bath and Beyond and in his sweet talking way got them to give him a discount off of the mixer. I guess the lady was impressed with him because he was in uniform and she had a daughter that is also serving this country and would give him a special. So he saved like $60.00 off the mixer. Now that is a bargain I can get behind!
Santa then wrapped up his gift but he did it in a special way. He took the mixer out of the box and taped another box to it and wrapped them up. It looked like one huge gift. When I saw it this morning I had no idea what it was. I had to move it out of the way to get to the kids gifts and he told me to be careful because it was fragile. I picked it up and it was so light and I had no idea what it could be. After the kids were done with their gifts, I got to open up mine. I opened and saw the box and I didn't believe that he had got it for me. I was confused and thought there was something else in the box. He then got the mixer out from behind the couch and I about died with happiness. I couldn't believe that he had done that for me.
So here it is, in all its glory . . . I already made some cookies with it today and I have to say it is AWESOME!

Our Christmas . . .

Step 1 . . .

Leave out food for Santa's Reindeer so that the reindeers can smell the oats and make it to our house.
Step 2 . . .

Leave out milk and cookies for Santa

Step 3 . . .

Take picture next to the Christmas tree looking so angelic that Santa is sure to show up. I have been good all year and I will prove it with my sweet smile.
Step 4 . . .

Go to sleep, Santa doesn't come until you are fast asleep. At least that is what Mommy tells me.

Meanwhile . . . Santa's Elves are fast at work putting together all the toys that Santa dropped off. I guess Santa was too busy to assemble everything and left the task up to Mommy and Daddy. It took them 3 hours to put together everything. But they had so much fun doing it. Mommy couldn't sleep because she was so excited for Dallas and Phoebe to see all their new toys.

Step 5 . . .

Wake up in the morning to see if Santa ate the cookies and brought any presents.

Step 6 . . .

OPEN PRESENTS!!!!

Step 7 . . .

Play with all my new presents. And fall off my new scooter, lol!

Step 8 . . .

Be so cute and thankful for all the wonderful toys!!

Brother and Sister . . .

Dallas has been a really good brother lately. Whenever he is near Phoebe he asks me to take a picture of them. He wants to pick her up and carry her and when I tell him he is too little and she is too heavy for him he tells me, "Mama, I want to hold her" It is really cute.

Here are just a few pictures of them recently.

Dallas asked that I put Phoebe on the airplane so they could ride together. I pushed them around and she had so much fun.

Trying to drink from brothers cup.Again, Dallas asked that I put Phoebe in the clothes basket with him. She loved it of course.Just a cute picture of Phoebe. Isn't she pretty?

Christmas Parade . . .

What an exciting day for Dallas. The Christmas parade was so much fun for him. Before the parade started he heard the sirens of the firetrucks and he was running around in a circle and yelling, "FIRETRUCKS!!!! FIRETRUCKS!!!! FIRETRUCKS!!!!" It was hilarious!! I think it was the happiest I have seen him. Our town isn't big but the parade was really good. There was a band, firetrucks, a bunch of motorcycles, some dogs, a bunch of horses and of course Santa.

Here the kids are sitting in the van wating for the parade to start. Dallas is happy, Phoebe looks unimpressed.

Daddy showing Dallas some of the parade
The FIRETRUCKS!! They had all the sirens on and it was really loud and he loved it!Daddy pulling double duty!

Weird Boy . . .

The pictures say it all . . .

He was licking the book and eating the pancakes. He must have done this for about five minutes this morning. Then he would tell me the pancakes were delicious and go right back to eating them.Dallas wanted to wear my vest so badly. He was getting ready for bed and asked me if he could wear it to bed.

Working the pole already, we should be scared!I was making dinner and Phoebe and Dallas were both playing so well. It got quiet and I knew I was in trouble. Phoebe found a purple crayon under the kitchen table and decided to eat it up. Yummy.Dallas says, "Cheese"
