"The miracle isn't that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start" John BinghamSuch a proud moment for me. I worked really, really hard to earn this metal. I trained for months and did something I never thought I would be able to do.
I cannot believe that I have actually finished my first half marathon. Yes, me the non-runner, set my mind to something, trained hard and finished. I am so proud of myself for doing this because running does not come naturally to me and it isn't something I love or have done for long. I just started running in August and it amazes me what my body has done with the strength and determination of my mind.
The race went so awesome! I think I heard someone say that there were 30,000 people running in the half. It was amazing to run along side so many different types of people with each of us having the same goal. It's humbling to see people old and young working so hard for something. I felt truly connected to the people because we were all the same, despite our differences.
I am proud to say that didn't stop running to walk once. I kept going at the same pace the whole time. I wanted to finish in 2:15:00 but I can work towards that goal in my next half in 4 weeks.
