I put up our tree yesterday. I got out all of the decorations and strung the lights on the tree only to find out once I had plugged them in some of them didn't work. I checked the strands before I put them on the tree and they worked fine so I don't know what happened. I have hated our tree for awhile and decided to load the kids up and go get a new one that had the lights already on it. Best money I have spent it awhile. We got home and I put the new one up and it was a breeze. I didn't think that Dallas would be in to putting the decorations on the tree but he was. He helped alot and was really excited we had a tree in our house. He even made a comment about my Starbucks ornaments, he said, "Look mom it's a mocha!". I thought that was pretty funny. I decided to only put up my nonbreakable stuff. Plus the tree is in a corner and I didn't need to decorate as much so I will do more next year.
The finished tree. You can't see it but I have my mom's tree skirt that my Aunt Liz made for her. I had been asking her for years to let me have it because I always loved it and she finally sent it to me last year. It makes me feel like I have a part of home at Christmas time. The one branch that Dallas hung all of his ornaments on. I think there is like 5 ornaments on this one branch.I also put some lights in his room. He was so excited about that. He also was super excited about his Santa hat. I couldn't get him to touch it last year and now he is all over it.Using the special glasses to look at the lights. The make the lights look like stars. Another disaster last year that is a huge hit this year.
